About Covenant House

Providing a community of healing and a continuum of care to homeless kids

Founded in 1972, Covenant House has reached more than one million young people with immediate assistance and an array of programs designed to move from them a life on the streets to an independent adulthood free from the risk of future homelessness.

As the largest privately-funded agency in the Americas helping homeless kids, Covenant House provides 24/7 crisis care and on-going support for kids in need of a safe haven.

Through the generous support of people like you, Covenant House programs provide vital services such as shelter, medical care, educational programs, job preparedness and job training, mother and child care, drug abuse treatment, mental heath care, counseling, and transitional living to thousands of homeless kids.

Last year, Covenant House provided direct services to over 55,000 young people including:

  • 31,107 youth came to our Residential and Community Service Centers;
  • 661,740 nights of shelter were provided;
  • 36,154 youth were reached through our Outreach programs;
  • 40,595 crisis calls made to NINELINE, Covenant House's U.S. crisis hotline for youth in need (1-800-999-9999);
  • 11,056 crisis calls made to Acercatel, Casa Alianza's crisis hotline in Mexico.

Even if you aren't able to join our candlelight vigil, you can always make a donation to Covenant House and help save a homeless kid who is living on the streets. Your tax-deductible gift provides food, shelter, care and a second chance to make dreams come true.
